The other side of me

One very wise person once said to me

“Every stone that comes your way can be changed into a stair step, you just need to re-arrange it that way”

Every human is constantly learning knowingly/unknowingly from what comes along his life.

A thought an experience may however mould you in a way which surprises you as well.

Even the most humble person has a snaky instinct.

It will lie harmlessly in one quiet corner unless provoked by some unpleasing action.

There are times when such beastly aspects of your personality overpower you.

The stimulus is definitely some exterior action or experience.

The question that lingers my mind is “Who is responsible for this?”

The very existence of a person is ruled by the environment he lives in.

Every thing is relative.

It’s like the entire universe is planning to make you what you ought to be.

Then is the owner of all unpleasing actions HE-just that one person?

After all even such actions have some reasons behind them.

Some share should rightly be given to the people around him or the actions that resulted in a counter attack.

Whenever we hear of an unworthy action-some socially unjustified deed, we immediately start looking at the person in question with a negative feeling.

We fail to analyze the cause behind it unless we ourselves encounter a situation which provokes us to do something we never thought we could.

Anger, frustration, depression are all ingredients of a human.

The right quantity is desired.

A pinch of salt more can make life distasteful.

While I think of all this I also realize that the best way to confront such situation our self would probably be to pour the venom inside us on a piece of paper.

For there is practically no way to undo what is already done.

Once that unsavory uncontainable moment surpasses, pick that paper and look at the wacky thoughts you just had….

You are bound to be hit by a notion

‘Gosh!!! That was the other side of me’

I am wondering what is this lady doing in the software industry who's right place should be something like the entertainment industry where we have scarcity of meaningful creations or may be we would have 1 more name in the list of writers of Indian Diaspora creating a big impact.

My favorite line

"Whenever we hear of an unworthy action-some socially unjustified deed, we immediately start looking at the person in question with a negative feeling"

"To err is human" Many times we criticize a person or try to make our opinion on the basis of what we has done wrong. Instead of looking at the wrong side of a person if we try to find out his good deeds, we will realize "every person is a nice person" Only circumstances and few deeds makes him bad.

We should always try to give as many benefits of doubt as possible. No body knows when the other side of person returns back.

"The very existence of a person is ruled by the environment he lives in."

Another biggie ...

"Even the most humble person has a snaky instinct"

Deep and well written thoughts
You should write more ...

"The power of the mind moves the world", I felt it true and got a good feel from within when I read this blog. Thought provoking.

The most important ingredient in living is knowing how to get along with people. I feel that it all begins with you and you must be the change that you wish to see in yourself, instead of blaming the environment around.

Keep writing and make influential deep thoughts.

A very impressive blog. Very true on whatever you have said. I look forward to seeing many more such blogs from you.

Very well framed thoughts...but i cannot entirely agree upon.
Ex. "Whenever we hear of an unworthy action-some socially unjustified deed, we immediately start looking at the person in question with a negative feeling. We fail to analyze the cause behind it unless we ourselves encounter a situation which provokes us to do something we never thought we could." - This is true only to a certain extent because not all the criminals that we find are made criminals due to the environment/circumstances/society in which he was brought up. We cannot keep on blaming the circumstances for the position he is in. Even if a person becomes a criminal due to the circumstances, as a human ("To err is human"), he should try to correct himself.
"TO ERR IS HUMAN, BUT TO BE ERR PRONE IS CRIMINAL"

"The right quantity is desired" - An amazing quote. Hats off to your creative thoughts.

We are ready to accept or realise our mistakes if it conveyed in a proper way. Your writing skill proves that.

Keep on creating this.

I have to change my self to think about the reason for unworthy action instead of blaming others ..
Its nice lesson to everybody ..

Excellent one. but, as mentioned in above comments, we should not keep on blaming the way the person has brought up. No one would make mistakes if they are proper human.

Nice blog Shilpa...every human has a beast & god in him...so its upon us to see to it that godliness always has the upper hand....
U have suggested a nice way to pour the venom inside us on a piece of paper... wen we look into it latter the self realization of how our thoughts went will definitely help us correct ourself...

Shilpa, though u began with a cliche "someone wise once told me..."it was a positive note to start with and I wish you had kept that vein till the finish.

there are a few glaring contradictions that jumped out the moment i finished reading yr write up.

At the very outset you say that any obstacle can be turned into a stepping stone.
Yet towards the conclusion u contradict yrself by justifying a person's "beastly" actions by saying things are relative. To say "the society prepares the crime, the criminal commits it" is the defense of a criminal! Whether an individual uses a situation to make or break him is finally his own decision and he shld be held responsible for the consequences of his own actions.

Also in my opinion not only shld we condemn the deed,we shld condemn the do-er.Child Abuse, Dowry harrasment, kidnapping 4 Ransom,Robbery,Battery any kind of heinous deeds u hold to light - wld u like the perpetrator to get off with a light sentence b'coz he was a victim of circumstances? It's akin to justifying eve teasing by saying -"she was dressed so bad that she was asking 4 it"

To quote you -"Anger, frustration, depression are all ingredients of a human", so is generosity, fortitude, patience, kindness. What happened to those? We are more than what u perceive us, we have the power to rise above r circumstances and we dont have to spew "venom".

On a lighter note...Do u read a lot of Tami Hoag novels?Did u watch Annniyan too many times?Well,Dr.Jekyll And Mr.Hyde expecting more from u...Commendable effort but more on the positive note 4 me!!!

The blog she wrote shows real insight of hers .
I never knew apart from her nature shez so brilliant thought possessor.
The lovely thing which i learn from her lines is to always fight against the situation,

overcome the inner soul of yours and always lift your spirit high and higher, only than you can
