True Story

Intelligence, as i heard long back in school, biologically is governed by the convolutions of the brain. The predominant positive relativity between the two remains an interesting area of study.

The term intelligence describes a property of the mind comprehending related abilities
such as the capacities for abstract thought, reasoning, planning and problem solving, the use of language, and to learn.
This term is used extensively by parents/teachers while comparing.
Now who does not want their child to be THE intelligent one?

The question 'What governs it? ‘may not seek a perfect answer.
Here is something i would like to pen down for a read or maybe for my own self.

An average (or may be below average) student in school.
While giving her class 10 pre boards, found herself struggling through all subjects in a day.
Yes she was not the kind who would be studying days before the exam, just a day prior to it.
The results with this strategy tend to vary.
Generally there are subjects which see a smooth sail due to interest while few face a tornado.
So were these pre boards for her, the score for Maths, Science, Computers all landed somewhere below 55.
Made her the average student she was.

There is always a big fuss about the BOARDS coming.
Things for her and her classmates were no different.
Though she was not really a part of this race.
The atmosphere around her created a strange pull, for she noticed how life around her was dominated by board talks, ‘who could score and how much'.
The importance of a person was ruled by the expected score she/he could have.
That is to stress upon the fact that the person, who in all probability, will be the topper for the year -had her/his classmates idealizing her/him.
Strange as it all seemed the more she noticed the more evident it became.
A point arrived when she told herself, this is it,i want to be important.
She studied for her boards a little.
They went fine.

The results were due in July.
Class 11 admissions however started which were based upon the pre board score.
During her studies for the boards she realized that her inclination was the science subjects.
Driven by this inclination she decided to take them up.
The score from pre boards did not favor her.
None of the teachers approved of it, everyone seemed conscious of taking the risk of letting the school score go down.
However she stood by the decision she had made.
To break the tie, the school management thought of an entrance test for her.
If she clears the exam she would be allowed to take the subjects as her electives.
To everybody's surprise she cleared them.

Board results came, her score was 82.5%.
The tussle in getting the subjects she wanted had touched her deeply.
There was no looking back.
Class 11-Class 12 saw her score 97+ in all subjects, a clean sweep always.
She was suddenly the brightest among all the students, the intelligent one.

Did the brain convolutions just grew?
A thought to ponder - how did that happen?
A transition like this seems impossible.

It’s all in the mind.
The day you decide you can and you begin your journey towards it.
Is the day you become the 'intelligent' 'smart' 'genius' one.
The girl who scored so well in class 11-12, did not go to IIT nor is she working at Google but deep down inside she knows she can attain what she wants to,

I know it because I have lived it.

very well written, mind governs us in day-today activities but our heart controls head also....you saw... when you had decided to attain something you could get it.

Hey good one. It is very true that what we become is in our hands and in our mind. However, it's amazing to see what we perceive as being intelligent in the current world. (Since you have talked about your own life) I know that you are smart and studious (I have seen your resume), but I find you very intelligent not because you have some above average IQ. It is because you are mature, and you use your maturity to guide and apply your IQ and other measurable facets of your brain. You seem to know what is right and wrong, good and bad, success and failure. Honestly, this comment section is not enough to talk about my side. Perhaps if you allow, I could extend this topic in my blog.
Btw keep writing.Ciao.

If that was a true story, that was an inspirational story. It successfully covers the frustration of the mind when you are condescended. It was nice to see the positive twist in the story when the 'girl', who got hurt and is ready to prove her, paves her own path and shines. It also delivers the basic message of the power of the mind (and I would rather say, the power within oneself) to rise above any shortcomings and achieve the goals.

You have that writer's touch girl :). Keep it up my friend.

I have lived with the girl who has lived this!!!
Its well said intelligence arises when you actually want to acheive something and you know what you want from life and your deep self urges you to do something and says-this is what you want!!!
no matter you studied from a premier institute or attain some higher degrees, its the sense of satisfaction and the passion for the kinda work you want to do makes you intelligent.

The passion, i've seen in her eyes and result is what she is today----her mind is very well organized with the thoughts and heart always had a clarity. She enjoyed everything she had done.

i can figure out your thoughts behind it...and glad you have put those into words and showed.
once again dazzled with your creativity and talent:)
keep writing and sharing such thoughts.
