Its cold even the Mobile Phone knows!

 Read For A Laugh!

Well so,I had to go to the immigration office, appointment time 10:30am Yesterday.
I plotted the "how to" on gps and understood the route to this place takes 40 mins from my location.Applying the contingency i decided to leave home by 9 am and i left at 9!
On going 4 floors down i realized it's a hail-storm day and i had no umbrella.
Thank God for the contingency logic - went upstaris (4floors)
//maybe this was signal enough for what lay ahead,in India we would say so ;)

Took the tram, followed by train happlily reached the last station where i was supposed to be,at 9:40am.Too much time in hand i would say.For the walking distance (17 mins) I was depending
on the gps plot on my phone. So I started to walk and …to my surprise my 80% charged
  phone,decided to shut down.
Couldn’t understand what just happened !!
        It Just refused to start!
Do I know the way – how will I call the relocation rep.
        What should I do?
I did recall the name of the street “ Rebstocker Straze” and that it was very close to Main Land
Straze.First I tried to walk in the direction on my own (without asking people).10 mins walk and I
did not see any main land straze so thought of checking.
People had no idea…my accent is Indian ofcourse!

Decided to go back to the station where I started from and ask the Lotto shop owners/workers.
So I tried writing it down on paper  - but alas no

I decided to just walk based on intuition and I did another 20 mins.
Saw the mainland straze and thought yaay somewhere close kept walking walking walking for long, ofcourse it was the main road so ….but there was  no Rebstocker staze to the left or to the right L

Recalling  what a colleague  had been telling me - the phones cannot stand cold weather.
(which sounded so funny to me but not today!)

I decided to cover the phone in muffler/cap – rub hand, blow air – do  whatever to make it warm J
IT WORKED!!
So the phone got back to life and I quickly called the lady I was suppose to meet (it was 10:36 already).
Asked her for direction  she had no idea but did suggest I take a cab! (they would know – I wish I was that smart in the first place).

Anyways my wonderful phone gave me only this one chance and shut down yet again.
I continued the warm up thing for it while I looked for a cab.
When I finally got the cab (the driver did not speak English) so I told him to type what I said on his GPS.
From his reaction it was like oh here, you just take a right walk and left just 2 mins….
sometimes we dont need a language to commuincate
To which I said NO,CAB please :) [ I am very rich to walk few blocks now ;) ]

In the office ,I re-tried to warm up the phone and it came back to life again, called the representative and met her.
By this time it was too late already.
I said sorry many times realizing more that there were two people whose time I had wasted.

The next appointment suggested was for Monday (I will be out of the city) so I re-requested shamelessly for an appointment as soon as poosible.
Got one for today 1:30pm
Any guess how early I reached to the place this time ??? ;)

Moral of the story for me:

1)      Do not depend on phones – take a print out or draw the route map.

2)      Please don’t trust your Indian Accent

3)      Some problems have very very easy solutions (like taking a cab!)

Hmm.. written well.

Though, a couple of spelling mistakes you can correct:
did not see any main land straze so though of checking.
sometimes we dont need a language to commincate

And, a muffler/cap can't make a dead phone warm ever :D :P

Keep writing a little more frequent than once or by chance twice an year ;)
